Do you know of anyone who actually reads the newsletters from their garbage company? Well, I am a new convert. Guess what…the information is actually useful. My garbage company has revised their recycle pick-up service to include four on-call recycling pick-ups a year. That means you can properly dispose of your compact fluorescent light bulbs instead of tossing them in with the regular trash (which is illegal). They also will pick up extra yard waste, corrugated cardboard, single-use batteries, cell phones and chargers.
Check with your garbage company to see what services they offer to support the current laws.
